I just finished meeting and getting to know my new roommate, Kasey Campos. I never got a chance to meet/interview her before she moved in. The only form of communication we had was via email. So going into today, I was really anticipating meeting her. Going to a JC, I never had a chance to experience the dorms so this was sort of my opportunity to relive that. It was like real world Davis but not really. Instead of opening my door to a luxurious home fully equiped with jacuzzis and confession rooms I come home to a mundane 2 bedroom apartment to a girl still unpacking and getting settled in. We talk. Small talk turns into big talk? So far this is what I know of her:
- She's 29
- She drinks a lot of tea
- She broke her back cliff diving and may never fully heal
- She knits and sells her stuff on etsy
- She's very open and honest
- Reminds me of someone who could be on friends. Sort of like Monica
- She's had an unbelievably crazy life. She's been through a lot. I commend her for bouncing back and going back to school
I feel like she's one of those people who - because she lived a tulmultulous life and survived - have come out wiser. I can learn a lot from her.
